What are the Best SEO Plugins for Your WordPress Blog?
If you’re interested in building traffic for your blog, you probably (or should) have some interest in learning more about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Most people don’t want to invest in writing and creating a blog unless they receive visits which may help turn into more regular readers. Obviously, this is even more important to consider if you’re running a blog as a business because those readers may choose to buy something from you.
What is SEO? First, what is SEO? According to Wikipedia, SEO is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines via the “natural” or un-paid (“organic” or “algorithmic”) search results.There are many books and blogs out there that discuss SEO and how to optimize your website. There are also companies who specialize in providing SEO services to website owners. As most people become more experienced in blogging, they learn about SEO, the use of keywords and how to determine the competition for certain words.
WordPress SEO Plugins
All that being said, there is a number of WordPress SEO plugins that can help you take some of the guess work out optimizing your blog posts or website. I recently set out to find some of the best SEO WordPress Plugins for my blogs and to share them with readers. I came across two great articles from ineedhits.com and shoutmeloud.com that highlighted some of their favorites. So, without further ado, here are some of the best SEO plugins base on my own personal experience and the recommendations in the articles I read .
All in One SEO : All in One SEO is the top plug-in that most bloggers use today for SEO. It’s easy to use in that it doesn’t require much configuration and it definitely allows more advanced bloggers the ability to tweak the options. I’ve used this plugin since I started blogging and use it to modify my page titling for Google search results, add keywords and provide an article description for the Google search results. You can also add your blog meta description, title and keywords.
Google XML Sitemaps : I’ve written about Google XML Sitemaps before have used it on all my blogs. A Google Sitemap helps index a website’s pages for Google and other major search engines. It automatically creates a sitemap and alerts search engines every time you publish new content on your blog. SEO Smart Links SEO Smart Links is a new plugin to me. Internal linking between your pages and posts can have an impact on your search engine rankings. Software programs called spiders crawl and index your site. The links help the spiders find the different pages on your blog. This plugin helps you automatically link words to any post link. Interlinking is time consuming so having this plugin will be a big help!
SEO Friendly Images : One thing I’ve learned about uploading images is that it is important to insure you specify “alt tags.” This is yet just another way to help the search engines find you and especially with image searches. SEO Friendly Images fills in any alt and title attributes where you may have forgotten to do so. Simply optimizing your engines can drive traffic from an image search.
SEO Scribe : The SEO scribe WordPress plugin is a handy checklist to use for your blog post to help insure you have good SEP Optimization. This plugin checks your blog post description, title and keywords and lets you know if you’re not optimized for search engine friendliness. It also suggests keywords to target in your content.

Keyword Density Checker : I’ve learned it’s a good move to have the right amount of keywords in your post. Keyword Density Checker helps you insure you keywords are in 2 – 4 % of the post content. It will tell you how many times your keywords are repeated and insure you have a good amount for optimization.This list only brushes the surface on what are some good SEO WordPress plugins to try on your blog. I know many bloggers have your favorite plugins or have find some to be more successful than others. Overall, I think this is a great set of SEO plugins for to get a blogger started.
